A little selection of pictures taken in Prague in the last few days.
The first pictures are taken on Christmas day. This is around the Prague Castle (Pražský hrad)
In the streets of Malá Strana.
Crossing the Charles Bridge (Karlův most)
The next 2 pictures are taken in the area of Vršovice, an area that is far less touristic.
As we were jet lagged, we got very early and watched the sunrise on the city center.
The Charles Bridge with the Castle in the background.
The old town center shops all have specific recognizable little sculpture which depict what the building was used for. Perhaps this one was a fish market?
The old town square (Staroměstské náměstí)
Details from the Astronomical Clock on the square.
This is a sculpture of Kafka and is the work of Jaroslav Rona. It based on one of Kafka novels were a man is riding on another man’s shoulders through the streets of Prague. In this sculpture it is Kafka himself.
Last but not least, we went beer tasting in the Monastery of Strahov (Klášterní pivovar Strahov). Their beers are exceptionally tasty and delicious!
