After leaving the Malaysian peninsula, we land in the mysterious island of Borneo. Just the name draws so many images of wild expeditions through the jungle. We arrive by Kuching which is a fun city to explore: divided by the Sarawak river, there are lots of craft stores that highlight the rich and varied art produced the various ethnic groups of the island of Borneo.
From Kuching, we also go visit the nearby Semenggoh Nature Reserve which protects a variety of wild animals but especially Orang Utans. Seeing them is a very unique experience.
We were lucky to see a magnificent sunset. The whole sky turned to orange, then red.
