Here’s a little selection of pictures from a week-end in D.C.

This picture is from the US Botanic Garden next to the Capitol. It’s a special chrysanthemum on display for November 1st. It took over a year to grow it this way.

We obviously had to check out the Zoo which is very good. We were able to see Pandas and Asian elephants.

 

Our hotel was in Columbia Heights in the North part of D.C..

This is Merrill park also known as Malcolm X park.

On Sunday, we walked over to Georgetown, one of the oldest neighborhoods of D.C. First order of business: breakfast on little cupcakes.

This is the Old Stone House, it was built in 1765. It is the oldest, unchanged building of the city. It is also the last pre-colonial house.

This is the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal which was preserved from destruction as it was almost turned into a highway. But thanks to popular support, it was turned into a National Park instead.
